Police Shake-Up: Senior Officers Transferred to New Roles

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three senior police officers have been transferred to new positions.

Asanka Karavita has been appointed as the Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Criminal Investigation Department and Financial Crimes Investigation Division.

Previously, he served as the head of the Community Police, Tourism, and Investment Zones.

Senior DIG P. Liyanage has been transferred to the Western Province Northern Range, effective immediately. He was previously serving in the Western Province Traffic Division.

Deputy Inspector General M.D.P. Dayaratne has been reassigned to the Financial Crimes Investigation Division. He was formerly the DIG in charge of the Ratnapura Division.

Additionally, Deputy Inspector General S.M.Y. Senavirathna has been assigned to cover duties in the Ratnapura Division, in addition to his responsibilities in the Kegalle Division.
