Two Suspects Arrested in Dubai and Brought to Sri Lanka for Interrogation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects arrested in Dubai and brought to Sri Lanka have been interrogated under detention orders. 

Police confirmed that the suspect, Rotumba Upali will be investigated under a 7-day detention order, while Pradeep Sandaruwan, alias Kolonnawe Chandana is being questioned under a 72-hour detention order.

Upali is accused of two murders, including the brutal murder of Sunil Wijesinghe in Akuressa on November 1, 2008. 

He has been handed over to Akuressa police for further investigation.

Sandaruwan, a resident of Kadangama, faces charges related to four shooting incidents, assault, and property damage. 

He has been transferred to the Crime Division of the Western Province south range.

Ranmuni Mahesh Hemantha Silva, also a suspect in the shooting of five individuals, including leader of the Ape Jana Bala Party Saman Perera, is scheduled to appear in court today.

SSP Buddhika Manatunga confirmed that red notices have been issued for 65 other criminals who have fled the country.
