Staff Review of Local Government Institutions Initiated

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A staff review of all local government institutions has been initiated, as revealed during a recent meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government. 

The meeting, chaired by Minister A.H.M.H. Abayarathna, took place in Parliament and also addressed the vacancies in the Divisional Secretariats and Local Government Institutions. 

It was further disclosed that 8,435 employees of local government institutions were made permanent last year.
