COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says there will be no fuel shortage in the country until the end of April.

Chairman of CPC D. A. Rajakaruna said that the prevailing situation in the Middle East has not caused any disruption to Sri Lanka’s fuel imports.

He noted that a vessel carrying 90,000 metric tons of crude oil is scheduled to arrive in the country on March 11.

The ship departed last night from Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, and is en route to Sri Lanka.

The Chairman further stated that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the uninterrupted transport of crude oil to the country despite the situation in the Middle East.

Accordingly, he assured that the Corporation has the capacity to continue fuel distribution without disruption in the coming period.
