Police Nab Suspect Preparing for Crime

COLOMBO (News 1st); A suspect has been arrested in Elpitiya with a firearm manufactured in a foreign country. Police suspect that the individual was preparing to commit a crime.

In a related incident, another suspect involved in multiple crimes, including attempted murder, was apprehended in the Karadiyanawatta area, of Mattakkuliya. This suspect was found in possession of a foreign-made hand grenade.

The arrested individual is a 35-year-old resident of Pahala Bomiriya, Kaduwela.

Police have linked him to the shooting and killing of a person in the Grandpass area in November 2022 and another shooting incident in Kotahena in January 2023.
