Police to Take Action Against Candidates Who Failed to Submit Parliamentary Election Income and Expenditure Reports

COLOMBO (News 1st); The process of handing over information on candidates who failed to submit income and expenditure reports of the 2024 parliamentary elections to the police, has now commenced.

The Chairman of the National Election Commission R.M.A.L. Rathnayake says that this process is being carried out at the district level.

He adds that the relevant files are being handed over to the police by district returning officers.

Accordingly, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of provinces will be carrying out the legal proceedings.
