SLTB To Sell Scrap Metal And Spare Parts; Revenue To Fund Depot Modernization

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Transport Board has decided to sell its scrap metal and spare parts from decommissioned buses.
Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways, Specialist Dr. Prasanna Gunasena says that scrap metal has been piled up in various locations within bus depot premises.
He noted that this has become a significant obstacle to maintaining the cleanliness of the depots.
The Deputy Minister further stated that a decision has been made to sell all such scrap metal through a systematic tender process.
He added that the revenue generated from the sale will be utilized for the modernization of the depots.
