413 Complaints Received On Local Government Elections

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission says that it has received 413 complaints related to the upcoming local government election.

These complaints were received from the 20th of March to date. 

Among them, 382 complaints are related to violations of election laws.

Three complaints have also been received on acts of violence.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has announced that the census of information on government officials appointed for duties related to the Local Government elections is nearing its final stage.

The Commission informs that any government official who has not submitted their information online or through printed media should submit it promptly.

The relevant information should be submitted to the District Election Office in the district where the official's office is located, with the recommendations of their respective heads of institutions.
