Luxury Defender Recovered in Wennappuwa; Two Arrested in Connection with Unregistered Vehicles

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police have recovered a luxury Defender without an owner from a house in Wennappuwa, arresting two suspects in connection with the find. Authorities noted that the vehicle’s number plates were also missing, and investigations are ongoing to determine the owner of the vehicle.

This recovery is part of a broader investigation into unregistered luxury vehicles that have been discovered across various parts of Sri Lanka in the past few days.

In a related development, former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte was recently arrested after an unregistered luxury jeep was found in Mirihana. Ratwatte is beung held in remand custody uder court orders. 

Meanwhile, former Minister Johnston Fernando was arrested in connection with the discovery of an illegally assembled BMW in Colombo but was later released on bail.

Additionally, a suspect linked to the discovery of a jeep with fake number plates in Theldeniya, Kandy, was remanded until the 11th of November as the investigation continues.
