Minuwangoda Court Registrar Remanded in Bribery Case

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Registrar of the Minuwangoda Magistrate’s Court, who was arrested by the Bribery Commission, has been remanded until the 6th of October.

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama after considering facts presented by the Bribery Commission when the case was called.

The Registrar was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting bribery in connection with an incident in which the wife of former MP Sarana Gunawardena allegedly offered a bribe to reduce her husband’s prison sentence.
