Anuradhapura-Mahawa Section of Northern Railway Line to Reopen on the 28th

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Railways says that the renovated Mahawa-Anuradhapura section of the Northern Railway Line will be opened on the 28th of October.

Deputy Director of Traffic M. J. Indipolage says that the installation of safety gates for railway crossings is currently underway. 

He adds that after these tasks are completed, train services are planned to resume along this section.

The Mahawa-Anuradhapura section of the Northern Railway Line was scheduled to be reopened several times, however, it was postponed multiple times due to the failure to install the signaling system.
