Surge in Security Deposits by Independent Groups

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Election Commission said that 86 independent groups have deposited their security deposits for the upcoming general election.

The Commission noted that just yesterday, 28 independent groups made their deposits.

The Batticaloa District has seen the highest number of independent groups depositing their security funds, while nine groups have deposited for the Digamadulla District.

Similarly, nine independent groups have deposited their security funds for the Colombo District.

The Election Commission stated that independent groups have until noon on the 11th to deposit their security funds for the general election.
