Japan Congratulates Sri Lanka’s AKD; Eager to Strengthen Ties

COLOMBO (News 1st): Mizukoshi Hideaki, the Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, has extended his congratulations to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his election as the new President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. 



Ambassador Hideaki expressed his eagerness to work closely with Dissanayake to further strengthen the friendly relationship between Japan and Sri Lanka.



The ambassador also congratulated the people of Sri Lanka for their active participation in the democratic process. 



He emphasized Japan's readiness to cooperate with the new administration under President Dissanayake's leadership, aiming to achieve both economic and social goals, as well as to enhance the bilateral relationship.



Reflecting on the historical ties between the two nations, Ambassador Hideaki noted that the friendship between Japan and Sri Lanka has only grown stronger over time, regardless of changes in leadership in both countries. 



He expressed confidence that this election marks a new chapter in the relationship, one that will be filled with renewed stories of friendship and cooperation, continuing the legacy of strong bilateral ties.
