40% Of Colombo Housing Complexes Over 40 Years Old

COLOMBO (News 1st): According to the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Water Supply, 40 percent of housing complexes in Colombo are more than 40 years old.
Deputy Minister T.B. Sarath says that there are 96 apartment complexes managed by the Housing Development Authority within the Colombo city limits.
He says a program is underway to renovate the housing complexes that are in poor condition.
The Deputy Minister says that consideration is also being given to replacing some existing housing complexes with new ones.
