No Revision of Bus Fares Despite Fuel Price Changes

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Private Bus Owners' Association has said that bus fares will not be revised in response to the recent revision in fuel prices.
Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne said that bus fares are determined by a specific price formula, and a reduction of Rs. 10 in fuel prices is insufficient to warrant a fare adjustment.
Wijeratne further stated that a minimum reduction of Rs. 25 in fuel prices would be necessary to consider lowering bus fares.
