COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has issued a safety advisory for Sri Lankans working in Israel, urging them to prioritize their safety in the coming days due to the potential escalation of conflicts in the Middle East region.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, emphasized the importance of constant vigilance and advised workers to remain at their workplaces unless it is absolutely necessary to leave.
He also instructed them to use security booths at their workplaces in case of emergencies and to stock up on food and medicine for a few days.
The Embassy highlighted that the Israeli government has prepared hospitals and ambulance services to respond to any emergencies that may arise.
Ambassador Bandara reassured the relatives of Sri Lankans in Israel, urging them not to create undue fear and to remain calm, as he is in close contact with the Sri Lankan community in Israel.
The Ambassador also noted that several countries have issued warnings about potential attacks against Israel.
Currently, there are over 11,000 Sri Lankans working in Israel.
