87,000 students applied for uni admission in 2024 -UGC

COLOMBO (News1st); The University Grants Commission (UGC) said 87,000 students have applied for university admission online, this year.

UGC Vice Chairman Prof. Chandana Udawatta said the time granted for students to change their preferred university ends at midnight on Friday (19).

He said plans are in place to announce the cut-off marks for undergraduate degrees at universities before the end of August.

Prof. Udawatta further said plans are in place to conduct the exams which were postponed due to the 74-day university non-academic staff strike, over the next few weeks.
