The Director-General of UNESCO arrives in SL

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay arrives in Sri Lanka

Colombo (News 1st); 

The Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Audrey Azoulay arrived in Sri Lanka this morning. 

She was welcomed by the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

She is on an official visit to the island from 16 – 19 July 2024, at the invitation of the Government of Sri Lanka.

During the visit, Director-General Azoulay will call on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and will have meetings with Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha and Actg. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya. 

She will take part at the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Membership of UNESCO at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre and also travel to UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
