Railway Restructuring Committee Proposals to be submitted to the Cabinet next week

COLOMBO (News1st); The Ministry of Transport and Highways says the proposals of the Railway Restructuring Committee will be submitted to the Cabinet next week.

The Ministry says the Cabinet proposal was formulated after a Ministerial consultative committee examined the proposals presented by the Cabinet sub-committee regarding the restructuring of railways.

The proposals were presented to reduce the loss incurred by the Department of Railways, and to make it more efficient.

Proposals relating to the restructuring of railways will be presented under three sections, short term, medium term and long term.
