Railway operations along the Northern line disrupted

COLOMBO (News1st); Railway operations along the Northern line and the Trincomalee and Batticaloa railway lines have been disrupted owing to a train derailment at the Pothuhera railway station.

Railway Traffic Superintendent M.J. Indipolage said a train plying from Kurunegala to Colombo Fort derailed around 6.15 on Wednesday (22) morning.

He said a team will be sent from Colombo to rerail the train.

Indipolage said train operations along the Puttalam line has been restricted to Bangadeniya, as the railway line between Palavi and Mundalama is inundated.
