72 health unions on strike in the North-Western Province

COLOMBO (News1st); The strike launched by 72 trade unions in the health sector at the Provincial level is being implemented in the North-Western Province on Wednesday (15).

Co-Convener of the Health Trade Union Alliance Chanaka Dharmawickrama said the strike is in effect in hospitals and health institutions in the North-Western Province, from 8am to 12pm on Wednesday (15).

The strike was launched against the failure to issue the circular regarding the increase of allowances, in line with the uniform allowance, and the failure to include 15 groups in the health sector in the circular to increase the special allowance.

72 health unions launched the strike on the 9th of May in the North-Central Province.
