COLOMBO (News 1st) - On the occasion of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, visited the Abimansala III in Pangolla. The purpose of this visit was to inquire about the wellbeing of the War Heroes who were instrumental in securing the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the motherland during the humanitarian operation.
During his visit, the Commander of the Army toured the wards where the War Heroes are receiving residential treatment, accompanied by Senior Officers. He engaged in friendly conversations with the War Heroes, exchanging views and extending warm wishes for the New Year. Additionally, special New Year gift parcels were presented to the War Heroes.
Meanwhile, Senior Officers of the Army also visited to inquire about the wellbeing of the War Heroes residing in various veterans' wellness centers across the island.
