Cop & Civilian in Hospital After Brawl

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two people including a police officer sustained injuries during an altercation that broke out in the Udappuwa area in Puttlam.  

According to local authorities, the confrontation stemmed from an argument between the police officer and another person.

The injured police officer has been promptly admitted to the Puttalam Hospital for medical treatment.

The other individual involved in the incident is currently receiving care at the Chilaw Hospital.

The person at the center of the clash is identified as a resident of Udappuwa. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the altercation.

Following the incident, there was an uneasy situation opposite the Udappuwa police station.
