Sri Lankans Still Lured into Thai Border "Slave Camps," Warns Ambassador

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar, Janaka Bandara, has issued a concerning update regarding the continued presence of Sri Lankan nationals trapped in "slave camps" near the Thai border.

According to Ambassador Bandara, information suggests that Sri Lankans are still being lured into these camps, with one individual reportedly arriving just yesterday. 

The Ambassador further confirmed that 56 Sri Lankans remain trapped in these camps, forced to engage in cybercrime activities under the control of armed groups. 

Their situation is dire, characterized by forced labor and potentially dangerous work.
