Twenty-one Israeli soldiers killed in deadliest day for Israel in Gaza

Colombo (News 1st) - The Israeli army says 21 Israeli soldiers were killed on Monday, the deadliest day for Israel since it began its invasion of Gaza immediately following the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, foreign media reported.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza says 25,295 people have been killed and 63,000 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. Israel says a total of 1,139 people died in Israel on October 7.

Meanwhile, The US and UK struck eight Houthi targets in Yemen on Monday night, the eighth day of attacks since January 11 in retaliation for Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. It was only the second time that British forces joined in the strikes.
