News 1st is proud to bring you a World Premier of a fascinating documentary, The Dance of Gaja.
The film was produced by News 1st, Sri Lanka’s premiere news brand, and was selected for broadcast globally under the theme ‘Tourism Tomorrow’.  It premiered on World Tourism Day 2023.
The production is part of the Global South co-production on sustainable tourism, supported by the World Broadcasting Unions and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDDR) under their initiative, Media Saving Lives.
The Dance of Gaja showcases Sri Lanka’s potential as a sustainable tourism destination for both local and foreign travelers. It focuses on elephant tourism in Udawalawa, also navigating through the rich cultural and ecological heritage of the locality.
The 10-minute documentary film was Produced by Didula Bogahakumbura and the Executive Producer is Asoka Dias.
The Word Broadcasting Unions and UNDRR have accepted 'The Dance of Gaja' for broadcast in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Caribbean regions.
