Three police teams to investigate Maligakanda shooting

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three police teams are investigating the shooting that took place close to the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court complex during the weekend.

Sri Lanka Police said that no clear information has surfaced with regard to the shooters or the motive for the shooting.

Police said that a six year-old-girl died in a shooting that took place near the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court.

The father of the girl who was injured in the shooting was hospitalized.

The incident took place when they were traveling in a three-wheeler.

Police said that the father of the deceased child, was on his way back home after attending a legal matter at the Maligakanda Court, where he was granted bail in a case filed for heroin possession.
