The National Water Supply and Drainage Board said that several water supply stations have started to distribute water to certain areas as per a fixed schedule due to the shortage of water in those areas.

The main reason for this decision to be reached is the arid weather conditions experienced in Sri Lanka.

Anoja Kaluarachchi, a Director at the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said the Tangalle Water Supply Station is following a timetable to distribute water, and consumers are also provided with water using bowsers.

A similar program is in effect in the Nikaweratiya, Hettipola, Pussellawa, and Gampolawatte areas
