Dehiwala Zoo security chief dies in unfortunate tragedy

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chief of Security at the Dehiwala Zoo had died following an unfortunate incident on Tuesday (15) at the zoo premises.

The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Upul Senarath.

News 1st correspondents reported that a massive tree located opposite the Dehiwala Zoo had uprooted and had also collided with an electricity pole.

The Chief of Security at the Dehiala Zoo who was passing by had been crushed under the weight of the electricity pole.

He was seriously injured in the incident, and was rushed to the Kalubowila Hospital, where he was ruled dead.
