Triple assassinations shock Sri Lanka; Shootings carried out by masked gunmen

COLOMBO (News 1st); Three assasinations carried out by unidentified gunmen shocked Sri Lanka on Wednesday (21) morning.

A 46-year-old man was gunned down opposite his house in Niyandagala, Homagama on Tuesday (20) night.

Sri Lanka Police said that the vicim was inside his residence at the time, and he was lured to the road opposite the house via a phone call.

Sri Lanka Police said that thereafter, an unknown group opened fire at the victim and fled.

The man who was seriously injured, succumbed at the Homagama Hospital.

A 52-year-old man shot dead early on Wednesday (21) morning in Hiddaruwa, Kosgoda.

Sri Lanka Police said that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle carried out the shooting and fled the scene.

The deceased was identified as a tour guide, and Sri Lanka Police said he was shot with a pistol.

Reports suggested that the man was living alone.

Several hours later, a 30-year-old laboratory technician was gunned down by two masked gunmen inside a private medical laboratory in Kottawa.

The man died upon admission to the Homagama Hospital.
