Grandfather, 65, arrested over the death of child in Halbarawa, Mulleriyawa - Police

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Grandfather of the five-year-old boy who had died under suspicious circumstances in Halbarawa, Mulleriyawa has been arrested.

The 65-year-old will be produced at the Hulftsdorp Court No. 08 on Sunday (11). Another suspect arrested in connection with the incident was remanded until the 15th of June.

Sri Lankan authorities recovered the body of a five-year-old boy from opposite a construction site in Halbarawa, Mulleriyawa. Police said the child was aged 5 years and six months and was found bleeding with lacerations. It was revealed that the child's lacerations were the result of a lawnmower that had been at the residence.
