Sri Lanka's Debt restructuring blueprint in May

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's State Finance Minister Dr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said a blueprint on restructuring the country's debt will be announced within this month.

Earlier, Sri Lanka aimed to announce a debt-restructuring strategy in April and step up talks with commercial creditors ahead of an International Monetary Fund review of a bailout package in six months.

Sri Lanka pushed back the release of its debt restructuring plan to investors to the middle of May from April.

No explanation has been given by Sri Lankan authorities over this delay.
