China's SINOPEC clarifies fuel station project in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); China's SINOPEC that recently signed an agreement with Sri Lanka to enter the local retail fuel market issued a statement to address rumors regarding the fuel station project.

"It has come to our attention that there are unfounded claims suggesting that we have hired agencies to manage certain aspects of our operations. We categorically deny these claims and emphasize that we have not engaged any external agencies or third parties to handle any part of our fuel station operation or related business activities," said the statement.

"Furthermore, we clarify that SINOPEC has no intentions whatsoever to transfer any right of the license of fuel station supply to any other entity. We are committed fo upholding the integrity and reliability associated with the SINOPEC brand, and we reserve the right to take further legal measurements to protect SINOPEC brand image," it added.
