Indian Air Chief meets Air Force, Navy Commanders

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff of Indian Air Force called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, this morning (02 May 2023) at Air Force Headquarters.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) was received upon arrival by the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo, Air Commodore Suresh Fernando and was afforded a Guard of Honour which was conferred by the Colour Squadron of the SLAF.

The Indian Air Chief is currently visiting Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force that aims to facilitate discussions on the development of cooperation between regional air forces, joint training, technical knowledge exchange and expansion of maritime surveillance operations.  

Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari also met with the Chief of the Staff and the Air Force Board of Management after which official plaques were exchanged between the two Air Chiefs at the Commander’s Office.

The delegation was comprised with Principle Director Operations (Space) Air Commodore S Bedi, Director (Strategy) Group Captain SS Desai, Staff Officer to the CAS Group Captain LK Mishra along with the Defence Advisor of Indian High Commission Captain Vikas Sood.

Meeting with Navy Commander:

The Chief of the Air Staff of Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari who is now on an official visit to Sri Lanka, met with the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters, Colombo today (02nd May 2023).

Upon his arrival, the visiting Chief of the Air Staff of Indian Air Force was welcomed at the portals of the Navy Headquarters in compliance with naval tradition. Next, Commander of the Navy warmly received the Chief of the Air Staff of India and introduced the Navy’s Board of Management to him.

During the ensuing discussions, the two military top brass exchanged views on several matters of bilateral importance, whilst recalling the longstanding friendship between the two countries. The cordial meeting culminated with an exchange of mementos as tokens of memory of the visit to the Navy Headquarters.
