Seethawaka Odyssey to operate from this weekend

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Seethawaka Odyssey special weekend train service will commence operations from Sunday, 26th February 2023.

The special luxury weekend train service is powered by a S-12 Power Set, and can accommodate a total of 250 passengers.

It includes 2 air-conditioned compartments with 44 seats each, and another two compartments with 44 second-class seats each.

It also includes another compartment with 47 third-class seats.

The train is expected to leave Fort, Colombo at 7:15 AM on every Sunday, and is expected to reach Avissawella at 9:35 AM.

Thereafter, the train will commence its return journey from Avissawella at 17:25 the same day, and is expected to reach Colombo at 20:30.

Ticket fares are as follows:

1st Class (Reserved): Rs. 500/- for one-way trip, Rs. 800/- with return trip.

2nd Class (Reserved): Rs. 300/- for one-way trip, Rs. 500/- with return trip.

3rd Class (Reserved): Rs. 200/- for one-way trip, Rs. 350/- with return trip.

A statement from Sri Lanka Railways said that the Western Province Tourism Board had decided to station normal & air-conditioned buses at the Waga Train Station to allow passengers to visit attractions in the area.
