SC Orders Rs. 2M Compensation for Police Torture

COLOMBO (News 1st); the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has ordered two senior police officers from the Urugasmanhandiya Police Station to personally pay Rs. 1 million each in compensation to a young man who was brutally tortured while in custody.
The victim, was arrested in connection with a gold theft.
