Hatton tragedy: Death toll rises to three; Male victim found under ill-fated bus on Monday (20) morning.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that the body of a man was discovered from the site of a tragic accident in Hatton.

This increases the death toll from the accident in the Hulan-Wanguwa area in Hatton, along the Norton Bridge - Diyagala road on Sunday (19) evening, to three.

Sri Lanka Police said that the body of a 30-year-old male was found under the ill-fated bus. 

Sri Lanka Police said a bus carrying pilgrims on a return journey from Adam's Peak met with the accident at around 9:30 PM.

The bus had veered off the road and fallen into a 100 feet deep precipice in the Hulan-Wanguwa area in Hatton.

The other two deceased were identified as women, and the injured were admitted to the Watawala Regional Hospital, and thereafter to the Nawalapitiya Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
