Attempt to smuggle 206 live Star Tortoises to Malaysia stopped by Sri Lanka Customs at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A Custom official said that 206 Live star tortoises were being smuggled out of Sri Lanka to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The star tortoises were seized by Sri Lanka Custom's Biodiversity, Cultural and National Heritage Protection Division on Saturday(11) at the BIA based on intelligence.

The tortoises were placed inside six boxes labeled "Dried Sea Foods" after being placed inside cloth sacks.
