Several factions continue to express their stance on the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna national convention held on Friday.

Speaking on the SLPP convention and its new office bearers, Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said that former President and SLPP Leader Mahinda Rajapaksha is out of his mind to remain in politics and hope he can still be the President of the country once again.

Responding to questions raised by journalists on the SLPP leadership, he said, “SLPP is a sinking ship, and only Mahinda will take over its leadership.”

He added that if Mahinda Rajapaksa is attempting to seek revenge from the Aragalaya by calling for a commission to investigate it, that will not be successful.
