Parliamentary Committee summons MPs over Diana Gamage assault case

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The MPs involved in the recent assault on State Minister Diana Gamage in Parliament have been summoned on Monday (06) before the committee appointed by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to probe the incident.

Chair of the committee Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa says that statements will be recorded from State Minister Diana Gamage, and MPs Rohana Bandara and Sujith Sanjaya Perera.

State Minister Piyal Nishantha De Silva who was near the group at the time of the incident was also summoned by the committee.

Other committee members include Chamal Rajapaksa, Gayantha Karunatilleka, Imthiaz Bakeer Markar, and Ramesh Pathirana.
