President leaves for Dubai to attend COP28

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe left for Dubai on Thursday (30), to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly known as COP28.

The conference will be held from Thursday (30) till the 12th of December, at the Expo City Dubai.

The conference will focus on how to deal with climate change and have state leaders, public and private sector representatives, environmentalists, and scholars in attendance.

Sri Lanka has planned to present three proposals at the conference, including the implementation of the Climate Justice Forum for vulnerable and developing countries.
