Indian FM commissions Oil Tanks in Trinco

COLOMBO (News 1st); Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday (2) commissioned two oil tanks, each with 10,000 MT capacity, that were recently renovated & upgraded by Lanka IOC.

This was during her visit to the Lanka IOC Tank Farms in Trincomalee, where she was accompanied by Governor of the Eastern Province, Senthil Thondaman, and Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Shri Goal Baglay.

She was also briefed about the Lanka IOC operations at the Lower Tank Farm and plans for the development of 61 tanks in the Upper Tank Farm by the Joint Venture between LIOC & CPC to further strengthen India and Sri Lanka's energy partnership.

Indian Finance Minister Sitharaman also visited the Lube blending plant with a capacity of 18,000 KL per annum and Sri Lanka's only grease manufacturing plant with a capacity of 3,000 MT per annum being operated by Lanka IOC.
