Colombo (News 1st) - Pope Francis has called for a humanitarian corridor for aid to be delivered in Gaza and also called for the release of all hostages.

"Let the arms cease. Stop, brothers and sisters: War is always a defeat — always, always!" the Pope messaged on Sunday night on the social media platform X (Twitter).

"Let us continue to pray for Ukraine, as well as for the serious situation in Palestine and Israel, and for other regions at war. Particularly, in Gaza, may space be opened to guarantee humanitarian aid, and may the hostages be released right away," the Pope said in his message.
