Police probing knife attack on social media activist Dilan Senanayake

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Police said that an investigation is underway over the attack on Social Media activist Dilan Senanayake.

Police Spokesperson & Attorney Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that the activist was attacked with sharp weapons, and is currently at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Social Media activist Dilan Senanayake was attacked at his office located on Pagoda Road, Nugegoda on Wednesday (14) night.

Two masked men had arrived in a three-wheeler at 9 PM on Wednesday (14) and attacked Senanayake.

It is reported that Senanayake was with his assistant at the premises, and when the two masked men arrived, he had moved to the kitchen.

The two men had asked Dilan Senanayake if he could recognize them, and at once attacked his limbs with knives.

Thereafter, the men had fled in the three-wheeler, while Dilan Senanayake was moved to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.
