Two Arrested Over Illegal Pyramid Scheme Fraud in Negombo

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two suspects accused of defrauding people by operating a pyramid financial scheme were arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).

The arrests were made during a raid in Negombo.

Police said the arrests followed an investigation into a complaint received by the FCID regarding the suspects' involvement in operating, promoting, advertising, financing and managing the financial institution. 

The suspects, aged 45 and 59, are residents of Thimbirigaskatuwa and Negombo.
