Wildlife Department Conducts Independent Probe into Kavantissa’s Treatment

COLOMBO (News 1st): Director General of Wildlife, Ranjan Marasinghe, states that an internal independent investigation is being conducted into the incident where negligence by doctors was alleged during the treatment of the tusker "Kavantissa."

He further mentioned that steps are being taken to obtain the support of the Sri Lanka Army to ensure the safety and protection of wild elephants and tuskers.
