80g of Cocaine Recovered From Jamaican Woman

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A total of 80 grams and 9 milligrams of cocaine, swallowed by a Jamaican woman has been recovered.

The woman was arrested at a hotel in Kollupitiya, and the cocaine was discovered during a medical examination while she was receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Colombo.

Three Jamaican nationals, including two women, were arrested on the 12th of October after being found in possession of 1 kilogram and 46 grams of cocaine.

The suspects were subsequently produced before the Fort Magistrate’s Court and remanded for further interrogation under a seven day detention order.

The cocaine was recovered as part of the interrogation.
