COLOMBO (News1st): The use of digital signatures on customs declarations and other documents will be mandatory for importers and Customs declarants from October 19.
Director and media spokesperson of Sri Lanka Customs, Chandana Punchihewa said customs declarations submitted through the existing system will no longer be accepted after the 19th.
The paperless customs declaration system came into effect starting October 1st.
Chandana Punchihewa further noted that around 4,000 importers have already applied to obtain the digital signature.
