Six Suspects Arrested at FSP Protest March Released on Bail

(COLOMBO News 1st) - The six suspects arrested during the protest organized by the Frontline Socialist Party and the People's Struggle Movement have been released on bail.

This was ordered when they were produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva this afternoon.

During the proceedings, Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva ordered each of the suspect to be released on two personal bails of Rs. 100,000 each.

The protest had been organized yesterday against the government's tax policy and the rapidly escalating cost of living.

During the protest, the suspects were arrested on charges of unlawful assembly and using loudspeakers without prior permission.

The Magistrate ordered the case to be called again on the 06th of November.
