COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Welfare Benefits Board says those who have not received Aswesuma benefits since 2023 due to a lack of National Identity Cards (NICs) or bank account details will have until October 29 to submit the required documents.
Chairman of the Welfare Benefits Board, Nimal Kotawalagedara said the census conducted to identify those eligible for Aswesuma benefits since 2023 is now in its final stage.
Accordingly, he said the new list of Aswesuma beneficiaries will soon be displayed at the divisional level.
The Welfare Benefits Board aims to ensure that those who were on the previous list but did not receive benefits due to missing documents are given the opportunity to receive their payments before the new list takes effect.
